Joey Again Libels the Mayor to the Benefit of the Opposition Slate. Slate Remains Silent on the Behavior of Little Joey.

This Deserves It Own Post. As my viewing of Joey’s site and the other blogs comes in waves due to extenuating factors, I took chance to peruse his site yesterday. In the morning he had a post about the Mayor holding a press conference to produce evidence that a certain candidate for City Council actually does not live within the City. Now hold on a second there. This is huge news if true. Why wasn’t this brought to my attention sooner? You would think that this candidate would be crossing her T’s and dotting her I’s, but if Joey is to be believed, the Mayor has potential information that would invalidate her run for office.

The mind was left to wander. Where were the facts? What proof would she have? Joey claims to be a member of the press, so it is safe to assume that he has some inside dirt on what is about to go down and he wouldn’t just post a rumor with such loaded insinuations. The allusion was that the Mayor was up to something and the posts provoked the anit-Mayor sycophants to quickly comment about how horrible the Mayor was and how this was just another of her corrupt and insidious tactics to maintain her stranglehold on Salisbury power.

That Joey is such a tease. All he lets us know is that there will be a press conference. The Mayor called the press conference. The Mayor was providing evidence to invalidate the candidacy of a popular opposition candidate. Subsequent comments that would obviously follow as a result of this post indicated that the Mayor was a horrible woman who has no qualms in bending the law or decency to procure her desired outcome.

On the edge of my seat, I checked backed to Joey’s site to see how that apparently vicious public servant was going about her nefarious ways to harm the innocent citizens of Salisbury.

I was a little confused about what I read next.

Apparently there was no press conference. It was a legal proceeding, which is even seedier. That evil Mayor is apparently willing to pervert the justice system to do her bidding. Has she no decency? But wait, charges were being brought by another man, not the Mayor. What about Joey’s bombshell? His bombshell is a curmudgeonly old man who is looking to cause trouble with no real substance to his claim? I thought the Mayor was this horrible person who was making shady deals to kick out political enemies?

Would Joey make a retraction?

Nooooooooooooooooooo.

Our quick-speaking, slow-witted reporter did what any self-respecting journalist would do! Grasp for straws and spin! Hoping that his readers would overlook pesky details like previous statements and facts, Joey went on as if this was what he had stated all along.

They Mayor was responsible of course for putting this man up to it. The proof? The man had an Ewalt sign in his yard. That must mean he does the Mayor’s bidding, putting himself out in public to be in idiot on a low-brow fishing exposition. I mean, when Joey puts himself out in public to be an idiot on a low-brow fishing exposition he is doing the bidding of Councilwoman Campbell and the opposition slate, right? The Mayor should know that she is responsible for the actions not only her supporters, but of the supporters of her allies. The Mayor must also be responsible, according to Joey, because only she would know that the candidate lives on the city border. Gotcha Mayor! Throw in some bravado and inflated self-importance, sexually crude comments about the Mayor’s body, and let the gossiping/hatemongering start.

(Say what you want about the Mayor and her personality or character, but I haven’t heard one iota [and rightfully so] of information about the personal lives, sexual preferences, or body features about any of the opposition candidates or Councilwoman Campbell. There have been no embarrassing photos or libelous/slanderous gossip that I have been privy to. So, who is running the dirty campaign?)

It should also be noted that Joey has taken and posted a picture of the man's house from directly across from the street. Joey has gone from snapping photos of the Plaza and inanimate objects, to tracking down those who he is against and camping outside of their home. You know he is just asking for trouble, waiting for the gentleman to confront him on this creepy behavior.

Is this what we have to look forward to from here on out? If you disagree with Joey's intentions then you will be stalked and attempts will be made to publicy embarrass you?

This is sick and very scary.

Scary huh!

I said it before and I will say it again, beware rich white guys with axes to grind. Funny that Joey wonders why no one will use their real names and face him like a real man. Even if you whip his ass into submission, you know his dumb ass will never go away. It would be pictures of that man who whipped my ass walking into Royal Farms, pictures of that man who whipped my ass walking to his car, pictures of that man who whipped my ass eating a sub, pictures of that man whipping my ass as I try to take another picture of that man trying to visit the zoo. Then I would be part of the evil nazi conspiracy against Friends of Asshole.

So your left with what works, anonymous online jabs from people he may know very well, but has no idea who the 2nd personality inside said persons head is in real life. Games aren't fun unless they last for years. The bigger the game, the better the satisfaction when secret revealed.

The man who raised the question about Ms. Cohen's residency had a legitimate question. PART of her yard IS in the county. I can see how someone could make that mistake and pose the question to the proper authorities.

It was no big deal. It was a fair question. It was answered properly, fairly, and promptly. Ms. Cohen has made nothing of it.

But Don Joey the Delmar Dego, as chosen to declare war on this citizen for merely exercising his rights.

Well that is not news, he has done the same to people mere shopping or walking down the street.

The man has no true friends. Just sycophants that follow him around like rats follow the garbage truck. For that is just what Joey is, a load of garbage.

insider-

That is the type of discourse we do not need and that is prepetuated by Little Joey. Why must you talk about the figure and clothing of a Mayor. I am sure that the women you mentioned are ladies, and I would not want to know otherwise.

I hope that you are really old, and thereby given a pass, or you are showing bad taste is giving any credence whatsoever to Joey and his petty, personal attacks.

Alfafa- I am torn about whether or not it is worthy to have her residency questioned as I am sure that she would be eligible.

Irregardles of that, what the post tried to illustrate was Joey's libelous rumor-spreading about the Mayor attempting trickanary to illegally boot a formitable foe.

The attempt had nothing to do with illegal manueverings or even the Mayor at all!

There was no retraction or clarification by Joey, only further libel and degrading of the Mayor's character for something she had no part of.

Didn't women burn their bras in the 70's??? If the Mayor had a nice set of jugs would it be OK?

To clear things up a bit:

Terry herself let slip that she was on the city/county dividing line. She visited Mr. Russell after his letter to the editor last week. He took her comment and magnified it in order to create the issue. There was no "insider" as joe has suggested.

The city elections board was not legally allowed to hold the public hearing. By questioning Terry's residency, Mr. Russell was questioning her right to vote as well as run for office. The city passed that decision-making responsibility on to the county a while back, and it falls under state elections guidelines. Legally, the county board should have been the ones to hold the hearing - BUT - they cannot hold such hearings within 45 days of an election.

Mr. Russell should have been given a plain & simple answer. The city could have looked at the property records and said "Her residence is clearly within city limits and she is a city-registered voter." That would have been the end of the issue. Instead, we had a taxpayer-funded illegal hearing that came to that very conclusion.

Hmm...maybe that muddied the waters more instead of clearing them...

One more thing - don't blame the candidates for joe's misbehavior. They're not super-people. They would have no more luck reining him in than any of us would. At least they're not feeding him exclusive information.

Arm's length seems to be the keywords.

Ms. Campbell's behavior disqualifies her as a candidate for the title of lady. I see her more as a sneaky junior high school girl, passing around a slam book.

Ms. Cohen's right to the title is still in question. She is walking on very thin ice. Time will tell.

I doubt that the Mayor or any woman went braless. Why are we still talking about this?

And myndful, I am not asking them to control or reign in or even speak with Joey about these issues, but they need to address him at least. Disavow his statements, negativity, and harrasment of those that are in power.

I believe that their silence is an acceptance and approval of his behavior. Everything he does benefits them in one way or another. That fact cannot be ignored.

And slayer, there is no need to be talking about the behavior of the councilwoman. We will not stoop to Joey's level here. Also, her behavior should be offset by the fact that time has shown her to be surprisingly correct about certain issues.

I got your point about Joey's deception in portraying the Cohen residency as the Mayor's fault, and then not posting a correction after the truth became apparent.

He is not a journalist, no matter what he claims to be. He is a rumor monger, and even worse a bully that will push the boundaries of the law to get his way and hurt those who he perceives as enemies.

I am not commenting on the validity of her remarks, I am
saying that I am disappointed in her choice of action in getting her opinion heard. There are more appropiate ways for a grown woman - especially one with this kind of responsibility - to voice her concerns.

I do not appologize for this observation. She has, by her own actions, indicated that she is willing to engage in less than ladylike behavior, and that was the subject of the posting.

I would hope that somebody in her position would have developed more mature coping skills, but she is, apparently, stunted in this aspect.

My opinion still stands; she is no lday.
