Joey's blog starts off normal enough...
I happen to agree with one of the comments referencing the personal attacks need to stop. We will do all we can to make sure that happens.
Is Joey growing up? Were the anti-Joey blogs really the problem as Monoblogue and Delmarva Dealings have suggested?
Everyone knows she can’t say a word without slurring any time after 8:00 PM.
Tilghman didn’t have a thing to say to me directly, (pussy) and even as I looked over at him several times he purposely looked the other way.
(Side note- Joey gets mad if you say jackass and fuck, but it is ok to constantly say faggot and pussy?)
I do in fact hope that this message gets out there Matt Tilghman and as people Google your name they are going to read this post from my Blog and like it or not, you’re a piece of crap.
You’ve got a very big mouth and I can see where the two of you feed off of one and other.
These are all quotes/personal attacks from Joey in the first couple days on his blog. This is not including all the petty criticisms and opinions without merit that he has expressed. To the above blogs that have blamed my blog and others for the negative tone in the local political discussions, I will now accept your apology. Failing that, please defend your support of Joey and dismissal of what we are attempting to draw attention to and correct.

Another of his "no attack" posts.
He simply cannot just disagree. He has to mash his opponent's face into the mud, and call them names-like a bully in the schoolyard.
He can't tell us WHY the Mayor and Gary are bad, just that they are bad and idiots.
In other words, the usual Joey crap.
Actually, I suggested both sides were to blame, both Joe Albero and his opposition. I noted, "...we have Salisbury News, operated by one Joe Albero. Because of his, shall we say, attitude, we have now FOUR bloggers (by my count) who started their blogs to take issue with his." (Emphasis mine on comment.)
I'll definitely agree that sometimes Joe goes way out of bounds. Whether that necessitated four blogs in opposition, well, maybe that in turn was a bit of overkill at the time. A couple of these blogs have now moved on to other subjects or gone away.
My beef was with the whole tone of discourse from almost everyone involved in the local blogging scene. You'll note that I invoked the name of Ron Alessi toward the end of my post. While he personally apologized to me afterwards, his comments lumped all of the bloggers together as a "cancer" on Salisbury, and it's this kind of reputation that we may be living up to if things don't change.

The blogs on our end definitely got a little lowbrow on occasion, but I do not believe we lowered the bar, we merely fell to the occasion. As I have viewed Joey's antics over time and written this blog recently, I have grown frustrated by the lack of growth and maturity that has been shown by someone with such a loud voice in the political debate. A good political debate is amazing, but when it is merely a chest pounding competition to see who can yell louder, what does that accomplish? When that one attitude begins to spread to other individuals, and begins to dominate the entire discourse, what can be done?
How do you go about keeping a destructive man with no political wherewithal or maturity in check? Do you belittle him? Do you call him out on his hypocrisy? Do you offer to maturely debate with him? All of that has been done to no affect.
I believe that blogs are allowed to be "out there" occasionally as they are a representation of an individual. Nobody needs to hear a rehashing of a consensus middle of the road viewpoint. It is the blogs with the "out there" opinions, intelligently laid out and defended, that truly move the political discussion further. But to be taken seriously, there needs to be some integrity, if not journalistic integrity (facts and decorum) then at least some courtesy in the debate. There is none of that now.
I obviously respect your opinion and I am glad you have made your way over here, and I would love to hear further thoughts on this subject. I have stated previously, and I will state again that I do not have a personal vendetta against Joey, but a disgust towards the attitude that he has brought to Salisbury politics.
I laud the anti-Joe blogs. They are fighting for people's right to express an opinion or a comment. SRR and Sparkly did nothing to deserve the personal and unfounded attacks laid on them. Look at the vicious posts about Doug Church Pictures of the man was washing his windows--that should be good for downtown. The common comments about Charles Jannace and poor Rayanne (whoever she is) Joe threatened people! IMO he is the pussy and needs a good ol' Eastern Shore Ass Whooping, but tar and feathers would suffice.
He is an even bigger pussy because I have stepped to him a couple times and called him out to defend what he says and what he does, but he will have nothing of it. He only picks on those he has something on. It is obvious he reads all the blogs, but because he doesnt know me, or no sympathy, or yh8 he keeps back because he knows he wont win a debate on the issues we are trying to correct.
Everyone else he bullied with immature insults.
And Hadley- he cant back it up because he is just stating it to bring people down.

very good discussion guys! I know my blog was over the top. It was intended to be, I believe my sarcasstic attitude, skits and pictures help bring attention to the whole situation with this guy. I do believe that I helped play a part in his dwindling blog readership.
If that was because of disgust at me, him, Yh8, townie or GunPowder or idiot, I don't care it worked.
In this particualr case I think the ends justify the means. People were actually fighing back, calling him out in their comments on his blog, disagreeing with him and in general pushing him away.
I'll do it agian if necessary. Right now I'm sitting back watching to see if people continue to not embrace him and his blog.com or whatever you call it dies a slow lingering death.

I will note that Alby has purposefully avoided mention of yhate.org and has resisted commenting on it. I do not think we have offered much for him to dispute and would rather his readership be unaware.

I was gullible enough to think he would start acting in a professional manner as a "Journalist". I suppose he hasn't noticed that his antics may have something to do with getting kicked out of more places than one. How many journalists have THAT problem?
He's even begun stating that he is accepting advertisers on his site. (*giggle*) I'd enjoy seeing what marketers would be seeking THAT demographic.

The people who took on Joe had a good cause. The did a good job.
I am going to call it a "counterattack" because in a way that is what it was.
Joe was attacking everyone who dared, dared mind, to disagree with him. Can you imagine calling a commentator on your blog a "pussy" because he disputed a point you made in a post?
Joe did, willfully, and maliciously, make hurtful personal posts, frequently accompanied by photographs.
Can you EVER feature yourself, or GA, commenting on a politician's thighs? I know you took a hiatus prior to the elections, but would you have made such a reference to Judge O'Malley, or any other Democratic Candidate or their spouse?
As others have pointed out, the best thing that some of us did 9with No Sympathy's guidance) was to copy his posts, and pick them apart with rational discussion.
